Guardian Vessels
Crafted using 3D printed silk gold PLA, Guardian Vessels is a sculptural series that reimagines ancient Assyrian symbolism through contemporary form. Drawing inspiration from the intricate feathered wings of the Lamassu, mythical beings associated with protection and power, each vessel is wrapped in a seamless feather pattern, functioning as a modern relic shaped by digital precision and creative intention.
The vessels vary in height and scale, reflecting both physical diversity and symbolic layering. While the Lamassu once stood as overt protectors of city gates, these forms suggest guardianship in a quieter, more contemporary sense through strength, presence, and endurance.
Here, “guardian” does not only mean protector. It also speaks to growth, continuity, and the quiet act of holding space for identity, memory, and the little things that matter. These vessels are meant to hold physical remnants of significance such as heirloom jewelry, prayer beads, old coins, love letters, dried flowers, or everyday objects transformed by sentiment. They offer a place for tangible things that carry emotional weight, vessels not just of beauty, but of personal importance and lived history.
These vessels are intended primarily for indoor use with dry objects. While extensive outdoor testing has been done using soil, plants, and regular water, their intended use is indoors.
