Print Book: US Letter (8.5 x 11 in / 216 x 279 mm), Premium Color, 80# White, Hardcover, Glossy Cover

Book Description:
Spanning two decades, this publication aims to capture Rabel Betshmuel’s passion as an artist and his relentless drive to modernize his Assyrian heritage. His early experiences of fleeing his homeland and immigrating to the United States have shaped his art and outlook on life. Despite censorship of his work in his early twenties and throughout creative discoveries since, Rabel constantly pushes forward in his quest to elevate the Assyrian culture. This 270-page publication outlines his creative journey. It includes a foreword by Nardin Sarkis and contributions from Akadina Yaegar, Shibla Betshmuel, and Fred Parhad, among others. It also features a thorough biography and full-color photography of Rabel’s work, giving the reader a peek into his creative process. Never-before-seen sketches and behind-the-scenes photos provide an intimate look into how he has shaped his portfolio of work. Each series of work starts with a description of intent. This debut collection is an essential reference for those just discovering Rabel Betshmuel’s work.
